The release of the new movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, on May 22, 2008, is raising interest in the story of the real crystal skulls. The book The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls is Chris Morton and Ceri Louise Thomas' definitive guide to the facts about the skulls, and describes their quest to discover the origins and history of the 13 crystal skulls which Maya and Native American legends say contain crucial information about humankind’s destiny. To date the book has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide. The authors will be featured in a 2-hour documentary about the crystal skulls, to be aired mid-May on the SCI FI Channel on NBC/Universal. Morton and Thomas's A&E documentary on the crystal skulls received high acclaim in the United States and abroad. The independent filmmakers now live in Britain, having spent several years in Mexico.
