ANATOMY OF THE ENERGY BODY
The Energy Body
It is accepted by many quantum physicists that physical particles are an effect of wave structures, and that from nonphysical energy arises the particles and objects of the physical universe. Indeed, atoms, themselves, are waveforms not particles.1 As such, if the universe is inherently an energetic wave structure then perhaps the physical body--those of an individual and of the species--is the particle emanating from the waveform.
If so, this gives credence to a world where a) the physical body results from, or is an effect of, the energy body, b) states of health are the effect of conditions within the energy body that then find expression through the physical body, and c) the energy body is an objective, measurable form not just the effect of physical-based emissions of energy.
The basic components of the energy body and some of the energetic fields relating to it include emanations, auric field, cohesion, uniformity, core awareness, and the focal point.
According to Toltec theory, there are specific vibrations or energy lines known as emanations that are generated by a cosmological source energy, a creator of some kind.2 Each aspect of creation has its own emanation. Thus there is an emanation for humans, for extraterrestrials, for plants, and for trees, just to name a few. Emanations are the natural essence of a person, place, or thing. Stretching through infinity, emanations contain the realization of potential. While some may directly affect the energy body, others have indirect influence as they exist beyond the domain of human awareness, and others may have no effect whatsoever.
Emanations pertain to all energies emitted from a source, be they a single vibration or a bandwidth comprised of various frequencies. This source could be a person, an aspect of the environment such as auric fields, or the source of creation. From a cosmological perspective, Dark Energy also pertains to emanations from source. A recent discovery, Dark Energy is thought to comprise almost three-fourths of our universe and directly influence us and our world. It is also thought this revelation may require a new theory of physics.3
First Field: Physical energies; Order; the Known World.
Second Field: Nonphysical energies; the Unknown World.
Emanations: Some exist within and without the energy body; others reside completely outside ordinary human awareness and are therefore Unknowable.
Just as there are cosmological emanations that produce life, humans emit vibrations that produce what are often referred to as auras. This is the energy extending outward from the entire energy body. Oschman has postulated that it is a field of ionic vapor surrounding physical body.4 An apt analogy is that of an incandescent lightbulb. The filament represents the physical body and the glass represents the outer edge of the nonphysical energy field. Through the interplay of an energized physical body interacting with the nonphysical energies, the bulb emits energy: the aura. Some healers, such as Barbara Brennan, have interesting schematics that detail states of health as relating to the colors and clarity of the auric field.5 A main point is that the aura is not the energy body itself. It is the light emanating from the entire being.
Cohesion is the overall pattern of energy within the energy body. Coherence relates to the interaction among all the influences that form cohesion. Looking solely at the chakras, it’s easy to see that choreographing many separate forms of energy to have them act cooperatively is quite a balancing act. When we add the pushes and pulls found in daily life, the task becomes seemingly immense. Coherence reflects the end result of this orchestration.
The combined action of all aspects of the energy body forms cohesion. Depending on the approach, this can be examined in more detail. The combined energies of the chakras, for instance, can form cohesion. In the same manner, so can the meridians as well as the biological electric circuitry. At the same time, not accounting for the influence of meridians could throw off assessing the effects of the chakra network. The point is that cohesion results from all influences within and without. A greater understanding of all influences and how they interact might well be the focus of future scientific research.
A key to understanding this anatomy is that your cohesion determines exactly what you think, feel, or otherwise experience. It is the first cause or underlying factor of all perception. At the same time, cohesion forms from our experiences: by thought, feeling, or otherwise. New experience generates new cohesions; new cohesions provide new experience. Meridians and chakras also play a role as they reflect and influence one’s state of health and so affect how cohesion forms.
Cohesion generates meaning. It drives behavior. Your job reflects a particular cohesion, as does your family, hobbies, religious life, and every other aspect of your life whether it is dysfunctional or positive. When they are in harmony, so is coherence--and vice versa. Learn to manage coherence and you’ll learn to shift your cohesion. As a result, you’ll shift your experience. Shift it enough and you may enter a completely new world. The many forms cohesion takes are ultimately governed by the shape of the container, uniformity.
This pertains to the overall shape of the energy body. There is a line of thought that the energy body was once narrow and elliptical and is evolving to a pure sphere. Within infinity, our energy bodies exist within a certain bandwidth as do the energy forms of other species.15 That is to say, energy is often measured as vibration, or frequency. The AM and FM bands on your radio are defined regions, specific bandwidths. Each region has its own nature: the FM band is natural to higher vibrations than is the AM band. FM tends to have clearer reception but generally does not travel the distance that AM frequencies do. The use of one or the other depends on your goal.
As the attribute providing basic definition to the organism, uniformity is the overarching condition influencing perceptions and behaviors as it molds that which is within it. It therefore defines what is possible.
